My interest in Cars began in 1953 when I first saw an ad for a contest to give away the first ever Corvette. I wasn't old enough to drive or own a car nor did I even know how to enter a contest, but I really loved that car. It was small like me, and it must have been really fast because it needed wire stone guards over the headlights, It made an impression on me, for sure. Since then, I was hooked on Corvettes with the determination to one day own at least one. When I was 16 I tried to get my Mom to buy me a used white 1958 Vette at Tomol's Used Cars for 2500.00 but she said my old man would have a fit. My dream's came true: when I purchased my first Vette, a 1963 split window coupe for 1900.00. It needed some chrome for the rear windows which was lost when they repainted the car, and the drivers seat vinyl had to be patched, but it really screamed. The only trouble I ever had was it would quite when ever it felt like it. Finally one morning on the way to work it shutdown just as I pulled into the Shell Station on Trooper Road. The mechanic said he would try to figure out what was wrong. When I went back after work he said the wire to the points in the distributor was shorted and charged me 0.00 and said "man that sucker is fast", guess he took it for a test ride!!!
